Braunwald and the holiday region Braunwald ?Klausenpass has many
gastronomic delights on offer in either a cosy mountain-top restaurant, a rustic
pizza place or an elegant dining room why not try the Glarner specialities. Ziger
is a tangy and creamy green cheese. It's even had a song written about it! Then
there are the Glarner pastete ? little flaky pastry pies filled with marzipan or prune
- delicious!

Public transport:
Monday to Friday
Express train from Zurich main station to Linthal
Braunwaldbahn every 2 hours changing in Schwanden.
Week-ends
2 direct trains from Zurich to Linthal in the morning with 2 returning in the evening.
In addition there are hourly trains from Zurich to Chur changing at Ziegelbrucke
where you continue with the regional train to Linthal-Braunwald. Visit the SBB
online timetable.
By car:
From Zurich or from Chur/Sargans on Autobahn (A3) to exit
Niederurnen then the main road direction Glarus/Klausenpass up to Linthal
where you will find plenty of parking. From there the funicular railway up to
Braunwald runs every half hour (5mins before) and takes 7 minutes.
From central Switzerland take the Klausenpass road (open beginning of June
until end of October).

Final Fact
The funicular railway is one of the steepest in the world. The ascent from Linthal
to Braunwald is 607 metres with the maximum incline of 64%.
