The guided tour starts and ends in Tierfehd. First, take the funicular up to about 1,700 m above sea level. Then follow us 700 metres deep into the mountain interior through the huge machine and transformer caverns and associated connecting tunnels. By way of information boards, videos and explanations, you will learn interesting facts worth knowing about this important pumped storage hydro power station.

The guided tour mostly takes place on foot and in the mountain interior. Good health condition (lots of stairs) and sure-footed shoes are required. People with pacemakers are not allowed.
The old Limmernsee and the new Muttsee dam are not included in the tour. A live webcam offers tour visitors a view of the dam on the Muttenalp.
The public cable car runs from Tierfehd to the Kalktrittli mountain station according to the timetable. From Kalktrittli, a 2.5 hour hike leads to the Muttsee dam.
