Braunwald funicular

The journey from Linthal to Braunwald is a unique experience in itself. While in 1907 the wooden carriage took a further 20 minutes to drive to Braunwald, today's Braunwaldbahn, conquering a 64% gradient, travels from Linthal to the sun terrace with its amazing views in just 7 minutes. In celebration of the 100th anniversary in 2007, new colours now distinguish the funicular.

Your connection to Braunwald

The Braunwald funicular is the only connection to Braunwald. The Linthal valley station is easy to reach by car or public transport (Linthal-Braunwaldbahn). There are sufficient parking spaces at the valley station of the Braunwaldbahn at reasonable rates (CHF 5.00 / day).

Maintenance of the Braunwaldbahn

The Braunwaldbahn will be closed for maintenance from 8:00 am to 5:25 pm on the following dates:

Autumn 2018: Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 November 2018
During maintenance, the railway service will be interrupted from 8:00 am to 5:25 pm.

Charging stations for electric cars and e-bike charging stations

Charging stations / Tesla: 13 places:

• 6 parking spaces (including 2 Tesla) / there are charging stations at the outdoor parking spaces.
• There are 7 stations (including 1 Tesla) in operation in the car park.
• 3 dual charging stations

Thanks to the Linthpark Glarus Süd, you will find 3 new dual charging stations on the gravel parking area P1. These charging stations provide you with energy from Glarus hydropower free of charge.0

E-bikes and charging stations:

At the bike shelter at the valley station in Linthal, there is an e-bike charging station for 4 e-bikes. The e-bikes can be charged for free (deposit for cable: CHF 20.00). There are also 4 charging stations at the mountain station in Braunwald.
At the Linthal valley station, you can rent mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes via www.rentabike.ch.

Parkingpay

With immediate effect, you can avoid queuing at the ticket machine, searching for a coin and pulling a ticket.
Take advantage of the opportunity to create an account at www.parkingpay.ch or via the app, in order to open the barriers of the parking levels P1, P2, P3 with the batch sent to you.
The machine on the Stachelbergstrasse (opposite Spinnerei Linthal in front of the SBB barrier) can be billed by app. There is now an option for short-term parking rates.
